Mushrooms of Northboro, MA

Top of Elegant Polypore.  Cap 2.5" wide.

Bottom up.

I make this one to be Cleft-foot Amanita - Amanita brunnescens.  It stands 6" high and looked massive.  I left it alone.

First year May Apples, about 20" high.

And finally something disgusting!  The less revolting name is Scrambled Egg Slime.  It sounds better by its scientific name as Fuligo septica.
Did this thing climb a rock in order to get away from the slugs??
