Large, old oak stump. About 5' in diameter at the cut.

Here are 2 Reishi which grew at the base of this stump and overwintered.

Spores 13.4 x 4.8 microns

This is some sort of slime mold that overwintered. Part of the outer layer dropped off exposing the black spore mass. It is 1.25" wide at the widest point and about 6" high.  This a horizontal view.  The top of the snag is to the right.

Here is another which has the outer covering missing entirely. It was about 2" wide at the widest point and about 3" high.
